What is the Student Leadership Training Network?
How many youth workers at your church are adequately trained to work with youth? How many have "burned out" because they felt inadequate to lead youth? Many youth workers are frustrated and even quit because they aren't prepared to lead.
What about your students? Are they ready to take the lead with their peers? Have youth dropped out of church because they were bored or over looked? Or because their needs were not met or understood? One of the most pressing needs in youth ministry today is effective Christian leadership. If we are to take seriously the biblical mandate to "prepare God's people for works of service," (Eph. 4:12) then we need to do a better job of training leaders.

Dr.
Wes Black is the founder and director of Student Leadership
Training Network. This has been a matter of prayer and research for him
for years. Research with hundreds of active leaders has produced the basic
information leading to the topics of these lessons. He has been engaged
in youth ministry for over 35 years, serving as youth minister, trainer
of youth leaders, published author for youth related materials, and seminary
professor teaching youth ministry. He will lead this effort to provide
excellent leadership training that will help youth change our world!
